A poetic and performative series of short documentaries, that bridges the history of Greenlands ancient Cultural heritage, Drumdancing and Drumsinging.
From a long lineage of drumdance practitioners, director Varna Marianne Nielsen, shares her autoethnographic research, weaved with archival material and personal reflections from other practitioners and elders, that endured the times of huge changes in Greenland.
A historic tale, that links the progress of Drumdancing and Drumsinging, through the Colonial era unto today.
From nearly lost, to be revived, this series convey the resilience of Inuit, their oral history, their Indigenous heritage and practices in Greenland.
